Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering

The degree provides students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to address a variety of societal needs. Our programme at the undergraduate level prepares students for entry-level work as mechanical engineers or for post graduate study in engineering or in another discipline where a fundamental engineering background constitutes a desirable foundation.

Entry requirement

A candidate should have passed (10+2) course or equivalent course recognized by State or Central board and secured minimum marks as prescribed by State Government for the admission year 2009-10.

How you learn

Programmes are taught in the form of case studies, group discussions, presentations and mandatory practical training at industries through internship, industrial visits and projects.

Mechanical engineering graduates are needed by consultancies, private industries, or government agencies in the areas of power generation, mining, mineral processing, metal and materials production, transport, air conditioning and refrigeration, defence, materials handling and manufacturing. Typical professional mechanical engineering positions include engineering design, construction and commissioning of mechanical systems, management of operating plant and projects, and supervision and maintenance of manufacturing processes and automated systems.
