NCC Bicycle Expedition from Bangalore to Virajpet (Coorg)

The 2A/5 Coy NCC of Jain University, affiliated to 7 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Group ‘B’ Bangalore undertakes Bicycle Expedition from Bangalore to Virajpet (Coorg) from June 24th to July 4th 2010. The expedition consists of 12 cadets from Jain University.
The expedition was flagged off by Lt Col Nilesh Karia – 7 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Bangalore at Jain University, J C Road at 9.30 am today. This proud moment was also witnessed by Dr. N Sundararajan, Vice Chancellor Jain University, Dr. B T Venkatesh Principal, Jain College the teaching fraternity and students. The expedition team will witness the Passing out Parade in which two Ex-Cadets of this company will get commissioned in the Indian Army. It is a great honour to mention that 13 Cadets of the 2A / 5 Coy have already got commissioned.
Jain University has successfully undertaken five bicycle and three motorcycle expeditions earlier.
Objectives of the Expedition :

Collection of waste paper for the purpose of making new paper bags by the disabled and creating awareness about the protecting the tress |

To motivate the youth to join NCC |

To create ecological awareness |

To visit the places of historical importance and spread the awareness to safe guard them |
