Science Model Expo V

Jain University – School of Graduate Studies organized science Model Expo V, an opportunity for budding scientists to explore the mysteries of science, on 9th September 2010.
The Science Model Expo is an intercollegiate event conducted to showcase the scientific temper of students through live models. This event is an attempt to inculcate the spirit of innovation and creativity in the young minds so that they are able to contribute to the ever-growing field of science and manifesting the enthusiasm and interests of students in exploring new technology and innovation that can help India achieve the status of formidable scientific power.
The Event was inaugurated by Prof. M .S. Hegde – Dean Solid State & Structural Chemistry Unit IISC, Bangalore. He gave a brief talk of significance of fundamental research and need to promote basic sciences.
The event witnessed a huge participation from many colleges and School in the city. Around 500 science models were exhibited by 80 teams from several colleges like Christ College , Jyoti Nivas College, R V College etc.,
Students were motivated and inspired to pursue their higher education in the field of science after being exposed to the various working and static models. Some of the models exhibited were Canon ball, Electricray, FishJacols, ladder, Dancing ball, Archimedes weapon, Chemical cell, De-Multiplier, Knights stere, Security System, and Pulse detector.
