DIALOGUE WITH POLITICAL COUNSELORS OF EUROPEAN UNION NATIONS :
Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor of Jain University was invited by the Delegation of the European Union to India to address the Political Counselors of the European Nation countries in Delhi on the theme "Karnataka Assembly Elections 2013 : National and Regional consequences" on 15 May 2013 at New Delhi. Over 20 Political Counselors attended the lecture held at the Office of the European Union in New Delhi. |

| MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING : CERSSE, Jain University signs a MoU with the Forum of Federations (The Global Network on Federalism and Devolved Governance) to provide research support for its Consultancy Project in South Sudan on Constitution Making. Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain University is one of the Chief Consultants to the Project and will participate in dialogues in South Sudan with Constituent Assembly Members, Party Leaders and Civil Society Activists on Constitution Making. The project also involves preparation of working papers for use in South Sudan. |

Campus of Jain University.

The Draft Youth Policy for Karnataka was today (9 August 2012) presented to the Chief Minister of the state Mr Jagadish Shettar in the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr K.S.Eshwarappa and Minister of Youth Services and Sports, Mr Appachu Ranjan. The Draft Policy was handed over by the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Youth Policy, Dr Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor of Jain University and Mr Girish Patel, the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Youth Policy and Vice Chairman of the Karnataka Sports Authority. The Draft is now open to debate. The research for creating the Draft was done at the Centre for Research in Social Sciences and Education (CERSSE) of Jain University. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister felicitated Dr Shastri for leading the team that prepared the Draft Report.

The Government of Karnataka, has constituted a Steering Committee to frame the government youth policy, in which Dr Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain University has been made a member. Dr Shastri has additionally been appointed the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Youth policy.

collaboration with India Institute, Kings College, London and Lokniti, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi is organizing a 3 day Workshop on Comparative State Politics and Public Policy at Bangalore from 13 to 15 June 2012. Scholars from leading Universities across the world as well as from premier institutions in India are participating in the Workshop.
