About the Exhibition
The Department of English, School of Graduate Studies, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) , is hosting a doll exhibition by Francoise Bosteels named “The Dolls Speak”. The Department aims to promote art and provide a cultural platform through this exhibition, where the students can engage in meaningful debates on the relevance of art and artists in everyday life. Francoise Bosteels is a Belgium-born artist who has set her base in India. Her impressions of India and its varied cultural and social fabric are reflected in her dolls. Fixed in the socioeconomic milieu of their human counterparts, these dolls depict everyday life in all its glory and simplicity.
