Workshop on “Undertaking Quantitative Data Analysis”
The Center for Research in Social Sciences and Education (CERSSE), Jain (Deemed-to-be University) has launched its Monthly Workshop Series for Researchers pursuing their doctoral studies. The first two workshops in the series were on the themes “Designing a Research Questionnaire” and “Undertaking Preliminary Analysis of Data” held on 6 December 2014 and 10 January 2015 respectively. Both the workshop evoked a very enthusiastic response. The third Workshop planned on the theme `Undertaking Quantitative Data Analysis’.
This will be useful for those who plan to start data collection or who have completed data collection and are looking to commence their analysis. It is also useful for those conducting Quantitative Analysis. The workshop is open for those scholars pursuing their Ph.D. at any University in the domains of Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Culture Studies, Management, Commerce and Psychology.
It is a two-day workshop scheduled on 6 and 7 March 2015 and is conducted at the Center for Research in Social Sciences and Education. The Resource persons would include experts from the field of data analysis including Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and Director CERSSE and Dr. Reetika Syal, Assistant Professor, Jain (Deemed-to-be University). The workshop starts from 10 am till 5 pm on both days. We are looking at not more than 25 participants in the workshop. The Karnataka Youth Study (2010) will be used as a case during the workshop.
A registration fee of Rs.1500/- will be charged to all participants for two days. Interested participants, please email ([email protected]) your interest to participate on or before 25 February 2015. Participants should send a short note on their research topic, University where registered and the stage of the research work along with a one page note on which questions / issue interests you most in the attached questionnaire and why.
On acceptance of the application participants will receive an email after which they need to send a Cheque for Rs.1500/- payable to “Jain University”. Registration will be on a first come basis, depending on those who confirm their participation and pay the registration fee. Please note that you will be required to bring your laptop for the workshop.
