M.Tech. in Software Engineering - Through the development of new technologies and applications, software engineering radically and continually changes the way we experience our world, whether in gaming, communications, commerce, entertainment, science or education. This course assumes no prior knowledge of software engineering and offers you flexibility to pursue specialist areas of particular interest to you (e.g. web design, digital business, and internet security).

The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master’s degree are holding a bachelor's degree in B.E (CSE/ISE)/B.Tech (CSE/ISE) or any other equivalent branches of engineering. The duration for this course is 2 years.

Curriculum Structure & Teaching

I Semester
  • The first semester comprises of 5 theory subjects namely Software Requirements & Estimation Software Process & Project Management, Object Oriented Software Engineering & UML, Software Architectures and elective are Distributed systems, Soft computing, Database Management System which help the student gain an in-depth knowledge.
II Semester
  • Four core theory subjects namely Pattern-Oriented Software Architecture, Software Quality Assurance & Testing, and Agile Software Engineering
  • An elective is offered in the 2nd semester that can be chosen Data warehousing and Data mining, Computer Systems performance analysis, Information Security
III Semester
  • The third semester comprises of three compulsory theory subjects namely Software Metrics and Documentation, Service Oriented Architecture, Software Quality Management along with an elective that can be opted from Data and Knowledge Management, Cloud Computing and Fault-Tolerant Systems
  • A mini project/Technical Seminar has to be presented by the students
  • Opportunities for training, internship at Industry and Research Organizations are provided
IV Semesters
  • This semester is fully dedicated for project work either at the University, Industry or Research Organization
