Dr. Shailaja Shastri, Professor and Head, Department of Psychology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University)was invited by the University of Bolton, UK to deliver two lectures on the themes "What European Psychology can learn from Indian Psychology" and "Beyond the three B’s: Books, Blackboards and Boring lectures: Emerging Trends in India" on 16 April 2015. Both lectures were extremely well received and resulted in an engaging dialogue between the speaker and the audience. Dr. Shailaja Shastri also used the occasion to carry forward discussions with the Faculty at the Department of Psychology to carry forward a collaborative Research Project on `Happiness`. The questionnaire for administering the survey in both Bolton and Bengaluru was finalized and the process of data collection would commence soon. The University hopes to sign an MOU with the University of Bolton on future research collaboration during the visit of Professor Jerome Carlson to Bengaluru later this year.

The practical and creative perspectives utilized by teachers to resolve the problems were connected to the classroom dynamics. The Play Therapy Center set up under the leadership of Dr. Sherin has gained recognition in Bangalore. Several schools are requesting the department to set up similar centers in their respective schools and train their teachers in the same.
