The Big Food Fiesta held at School Of Graduate Studies, Jain University

“There is no sincerer love than the love of food” says one of the famous quotes of George Bernard Shaw. It was also the tag line used for the food fest at School of Graduate Studies, Jain University. Organized by the Cultural Forum – The Big Food Fiesta: Taste of Bengaluru – on Wednesday, 13 January 2016, the food fest was a wonderful platform for all the food lovers (students and teachers alike) of School of Graduate Studies, Jain University, to express their love for food wholeheartedly. The Big Food Fiesta was a first of its kind event organized with the sole aim of bringing different types of food available in Bangalore under one roof. To add fun and frolic to the event, several games, song dedications, and photo booths were also organized.
Bangalore is a cosmopolitan not just because it caters to people from different facets of life, but also because it caters to the varied needs of food lovers with respect to different cuisines. Bangalore is known to cater to the needs of foodies and the festival had culinary styles from South Indian to Maharashtrian, to Gujarati, to North Indian, to Chinese, to Italian. Eateries from Bangalore exhibited mouth-watering food items like Dabeli, Tawa Pulav, Chilli Bajjis, Chola Batura, Holige, Dosas, Kachori, Samosas, Manchurians, Noodles, Sandwiches, Pasta, Pizza, Paneer Steak, and desserts like Ice Creams, Faloodas, Cup Cakes, and beverages like Masala Chai, Green Tea, and soft drinks. Games like Save the Royal Family, Straw n the Thermocol Balls, Tail the Cat, Coin in a Floating Cup, Stack Attack, Pitch the Ball, Juggling, Hula Hoop, and Pick the Floating Brinjal were also conducted.
Inaugurated by Dr. R Shanti Iyer, Center Head, School of Graduate Studies, Jain University, and Dr. Suma V Rao, Principal, Jain College – JC Road, the event saw a huge footfall of staff and students from PUC, UG, and PG streams. The students also had a wonderful opportunity to capture heart whelming moments with their close friends at the photo booth, which was equipped with props. In addition, students of various streams dedicated songs to their fellow classmates, which were in turn played aloud. Overall, everyone involved had fun and merriment.
