Every year, many number of students pass out of colleges in India and around the world. Seeing the trend and the fast pace growth in today’s world, the industry standards also keeps increasing at the same time. With this, of course comes many number of expectations from the up-coming students by the company. To educate the students on the same, Student Career Advisory and Placement Service in association with the Department of Computer Science & IT, is organizing a guest lecture on ‘Industry Expectation from Graduates’. The guest of honor is Ms. Lata Subramanyan, a Senior HR professional, Director HR – IBM India, who will be interactive with the MCA students of Jain University.
Ms. Subramanyan has a diverse experience in the HR function in the area of Training, Staffing, Compensation and Talent Management with companies that include Titan Industries, Siemens Information Systems, Texas Instruments, Hewlett Packard and IBM. Her experience spans driving Work force Optimization processes that includes competency mapping of skills and redeployment through work re-scoping and restructuring, Leadership development, Employee engagement and Diversity.
As the India Total Rewards leader for HP in India, she was instrumental in the integration of the Digital/Compaq merger with HP apart from driving several change initiatives benchmarking with competition to stay ahead.
In IBM, Ms. Lata was the Talent Director for IBM’s Global Technology Business based out of New York. This role involved managing the strategy, deployment, engagement and retention of talent globally for the technology services business
Prior to this, Ms. Subramanyan managed IBM’s Global Delivery Center in India, with responsibilities covering employee engagement and morale, training and development, talent management, organization design and compensation. She has a Master’s degree from the Madras School of Social Work in Personnel Management and Labor Relations.
The topic of discussion would revolve around what the industry is expecting from fresh graduates
