Why take this course?

The application of all fields of science into the area of investigation and law is known as forensic science. The B.Sc. program in Forensic Science will give the students a strong foundation in science and its application in the field of investigation. Forensics starts at the scene of crime. The program emphasises on the importance of crime scene investigation and presentation of evidence. Ultimately, the evidence collected at the scene of crime is to be brought to court to help in the case either convicting the accused or acquitting the accused ethically. The students are effectively trained in specific areas like crime scene investigation, fingerprint development and analysis, signature analysis, handwriting analysis, DNA profiling, toxicological analysis, cyber forensics etc. Being a field related to Criminal Justice, the program also highlights the importance of ethics as a working professional.

What will I experience?

  • Interactive learning environment with hands on practical experience. Every student will have a near to real experience to the prescribed laboratory work.
  • On-site crime scene visits students will be taken to experience real crime scenes on rotation basis, and depending on the case.
  • Exposure to instrumentation used in the analysis with the advancement in technology.
  • Cyber security and cyber forensics programs and workshops.
  • Opportunity for students to explore other related areas of study will be given.
