The Design School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in collaboration with EDC Creative Technology Solutions Pvt.Ltd. conducted design workshop on “Experience Design for the Real World”. The workshop was conducted in an Online Mode from 8th March 2021- 12th March 2021. It was conducted as a part of the course Science and Liberal Arts and Principles of Visual Experience, which is one of the core courses for B.Des 4th Semester students (Product Design, LPAD, and Graphic Design).
EDC Creative Technology Solutions is an experience design company specializing in turnkey design to implementation of experience centers and interactive museums. It is an award-winning creative technology solutions company, with an impeccable track record of 25 years in business in designing and implementing many of India’s interactive museums of the future.
The design sessions over the 5 days were conducted as a workshop, taking a live use case and elaborating the design phases and realized for a Corporate Experience Centre project. Students of all specializations got an opportunity to attend and participate in the workshop. Also, students got experience on how to plan such a huge project, working as a team with various departments.
Each day of the workshop was structured in a way to cover various topics such as –INCEPTION– idea, innovation, business sense, ELABORATION –Experience, Themes, Design, Stories, Technology, REALIZATION – Space, Exhibits, Technologies, Story Telling, Visual Communication & Interactions, IMPLEMENTATION – Teams, Challenges/ Dynamics, Time & Cost, APPRECIATION – Project Unveiling, Team Evaluation/ Feedback.
The workshop empowered the students with knowledge of working for real clients and their requirements. The students got a glimpse into the plethora of technological advancements that already exist and drive pioneering concepts into actualization and the hierarchy of spaces. The workshop enabled students to think and realize concepts better in the related domain of space, this also included the creation of a brand identity along with name, logo, logo-type, wayfinding signage system, environmental graphics, and other collaterals for the experience center.

Later students were given a task in groups to bring out ideas on a ‘cycle start-up’ by giving a catchy name and a scheme to attract people into promoting fitness. Followed by presentation by students and discussions on the same subject, which was a very interesting , encouraging and engaging activity for the students.
