Peter was the Metropolitan Police Service Directorate of Forensic Services and began his career as a Scene of Crime Officer in 1980. He was the Editor of CSEye Magazine and is a member of the Editorial Board for Science & Justice. He is an approved assessor for the Certificate in Professional Competence (CPC) - Crime Scene Investigation and the Pre-Employment Assessment of Competence (PEAC) schemes. Peter was also an Examiner for the Diploma in Crime Scene Investigation. He is currently a company director at Fast Track Development Ltd, a consultancy and learning solution provider.
Kate is currently a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Forensic and Applied Biology course at the University of Worcester. She assists in training for CSI personnel for West Mercia, Warwickshire Police and Gloucester Constabulary. Kate has also worked for Cellmark Forensic Services as a Forensic Scientist since February 2015.
Sue is a Professional Member of the Society and is an assessor for the Society's Accreditation Scheme. Sue's professional career has been spent as an analytical chemist, starting with the analysis of foodstuffs in a Public Analyst Laboratory. This was followed by investigating pollution incidents using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry techniques. GC-MS has been the main thread of her subsequent posts in a Government Food Science laboratory and in academia. In her post in the Government Laboratory, she was involved in developing methods in support of EU Directives on food contact materials and regulations on food contact materials at the Council of Europe. Her research has involved working in association with colleagues from the Forensic Science Service, the Metropolitan Police Forensic Services and other forensic science providers. She was co-editor of the first edition of Clarke's Analytical Forensic Toxicology (Jickells and Negrusz eds. Pharmaceutical Press, 2008). Sue is currently coordinating a skills training program for PhD students at the University of East Anglia.
Master class and workshops will be taken for Faculty members and students of III semester B.Sc. Forensic Science (Hon) from 24 to 26 July 2018. The resource person for the master class is Ms. April Robson.
April has extensive experience in developing, leading, and training courses for forensic scientists, at laboratory entry and MSc level both in the UK and internationally. She also specializes in the forensic examination of items for body fluids / DNA, foot wear and trace evidence. She has an excellent record of accomplishment as a forensic practitioner and has worked within these disciplines for over 27 years. She has been directly involved with many high-profile cases, particularly historic re-investigations. In addition, she has a wealth of experience in developing, writing, implementing, and maintaining SOP's for both ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 accreditation and has recently qualified as an auditor for ISO 17025:2017.
