Felicitation for women achievers on 12 April 2019 #Balanceforbetter

Jain (Deemed-to-be University) in association with GWFM is recognizing Best Women Achievers working in the industry for leadership and accomplishment in activities including: management; sales and marketing; public, community, and industrial relations; commercial and business development, training, or public service, entertainment, social service, ARTSAT a Function of Women Achievers to be held on 12 April 2019.

The theme, "Bringing Balance for Better: From Conversation to Action" #BalanceforBetter serves as a continuous call to action to build a gender-balanced world, whether it be in corporate boardrooms, government, academia and media or gender balance of employees. Gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace are a critical driver of innovation and productivity, and a key component for the Asia-Pacific economy to maintain a competitive edge.

Advancing women’s equality in the countries of the Asia Pacific could, in fact, add $4.5 trillion to their collective GDP annually in 2025.

Balance for Better, is a theme that resonates strongly from many angles. The business case is clear. Research says 30% of women on the Board of Directors is the proportion when critical mass is reached to create change. In a group setting, the voices of the minority group become heard in their own right, rather than simply representing the minority.

Last year we at Jain (Deemed-to-be-University) and GWFM pledged to #PressForProgress to work towards achieving gender equality after hearing that the gender gap will most likely take another 217 years to close. This year we continue towards that goal where the theme calls for better gender balanced world and put a stop to gender bias. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence.
