3rd International Conference on "Emerging Global Trends in Accounting, Finance and Taxation"

School of Commerce, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized 3rd International Conference on “Emerging Global Trends in Accounting, Finance and Taxation” on 27 February 2019.

The session began with an Inaugural address by Dr. N.V.H. Krishnan. He shared his experience regarding how commerce has changed from buying and selling to logistics, cross border entities and from physical to virtual amongst others.

The conference proceeded by the release of the special issue of the International Journal of Research and analytical reviews, a UGC approved journal with ISSN & USSN 2249-5138, Impact factor 5.75 and cosmos Impact Factor 4.236 by all the honorable chief guest and the dignitaries.

Keynote speaker of the session was Mr. Kush Ahuja, Head Business Development, ACCA, India. He spoke on the topic “Emerging Global Trends in Accounting, Finance and Taxation”. He emphasized on key drivers for change, the four themes of change were

  • Increased regulation & stronger governance
  • Digital Technologies
  • Expectations of the profession
  • Globalization 

 

He also stressed on optimal knowledge of changing skills, mainly behavioral skills and interpersonal skills.

Plenary Session - Topic for the session was “Most recent trends and strategies that impact Accounting, Finance and Taxation”. Moderator of the plenary session was Ms. Asha Merugu, Associate Director, KPMG. 

Mr. Gourav Kapur - He shared his knowledge about dynamics of change, technology in Accounting, Flexibility in career, evolving workshops, self-curated learning etc. He talked about how the world’s most valuable resource is data. He gave us insights on how knowledge can be converted into experience and experience into creativity.

Mr. Vivek Mallya - He emphasized on Taxation and its policies giving examples of Airlines, YouTube etc. He motivated the audience on Emerging trends of taxation and Accounting like BEPS (Base Erosion & Profit sharing), Arbitrage etc.  He further insisted on joining an organization which is data relevant, data conscious and data moral. Further, he motivated with “Don’t be scared at all with Tax and IFRS issues, we have to upgrade the skills to adapt the change.

Mr. Varun Jain – He focused on Trends of Predictive accounting, Descriptive analytics, Diagnostics analytics, and prescriptive analytics with strategies impacting Accounting, Finance and Taxation.

Moderator Ms. Asha Merugu, concluded the plenary session with a rebuttal of question and answer to the audience. 

 

Overview of research papers:

Research papers were received from across the country and a few from abroad. Altogether 71 Research Papers were received, out of which 66 papers were presented and 35 papers were published in International Journal of Research and analytical reviews, a UGC approved journal with ISSN & USSN 2249-5138, Impact factor 5.75. Three parallel sessions of research paper presentations happened in different conference halls. The Chairpersons were
