CMS Business School - Jain (Deemed-to-be University), in association with Ivey Business School organized LEADER 2017, a Business Incubation and Entrepreneurship workshop for all budding and potential entrepreneurs from April 10 - April 22, 2017.
LEADER PROGRAM is a high impact Entrepreneurial Development program initiated 25 years ago and currently available in 7 countries around the world. The LEADER objective is to equip entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs with the business decision-making skills to progress the prosperity and well-being of the regions in which they live. The learning objectives are:
28 students participated in the workshop out of which 6 students were from MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship - JGI. The program was conducted by a team of 4 instructors from Ivey Business School. Pedagogy included lectures, case studies, business plan workshops and one on one coaching sessions. The case studies provided insight into the problems faced by entrepreneurs, be it financial, operational, and marketing and management of people and resources. The students enjoyed the interactive sessions where they were able to clarify their doubts. The course ended with the students making a business presentation, for which they were judged.
The Ivey team was given a detailed tour of Jain (Deemed-to-be University) Incubation Centre which helps entrepreneurs to incubate technological ideas or technologies under development to enable them to target the marketplace of choice. They were impressed with the infrastructure and the concept of the Incubation Centre.
The feedback given by the instructors about our students was very encouraging. According to Andy Tam, the leader of the Ivey Team, they had to scale up the level of the program to meet the student’s expectations. Overall, it was a great learning experience for our students.
