A Guest Lecture on ‘Employer Expectations - Technical Details’

As a part of Words of Wisdom series, School of Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a guest lecture on ‘Employer Expectations - Technical Details’ on 22 August, 2017 for M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biochemistry students in the college premises. The guest speaker of the day was Mr. Anupkumar Lahoti, Sr. Team Lead, Mylan Laboratories Ltd.

Beginning the session with the introduction of Life Sciences Industry with a focus on Mylan Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Anupkumar briefed the structure of industrial setup and the job opportunities within. Further, he elaborated the classification of industrial setup which is comprised of three sectors namely Research and Development, Analytical and Manufacturing sectors.

Highlighting the career opportunities available in each sector, he stated that these sectors are the right place for innovative minds who have knowledge of procedures, analysis, and instrumentation calibration in relation to processes followed in the present day biotechnology and pharma industries.

Talking about the behavioral aspects that are expected in the current industrial setup, Mr. Anupkumar stressed on the need of qualities such as being proactive, punctual, team player and being a good communicator.

Further, he emphasized on how the aseptic processing department would benefit from the problem solving and logical reasoning abilities of its employees and said that these are the qualities that the industry looks forward in its future employees.

Mr. Anup concluded his informative session by highlighting the importance of punctuality in students' life which in turn will help them to be prompt in their professional life.
