School of Graduate Studies, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a thought proving lecture session on ‘Spectroscopic techniques of analysis’ by Dr. Nagaraju N, Associate Professor at St. Joseph’s College on 27 December 2016.
Dr. Nagaraju explained all the basic background principles needed for understanding atomic and molecular spectroscopies and taught students about the electronic (UV), vibrational (IR) and rotational (microwave) spectroscopies. Later he gave in-depth insight into the nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopies and made the students to understand the interpretation of the spectra with few examples. He briefly discussed about the instrumentation set-up of various spectrometers which helped students to understand the importance of spectroscopic analysis in research.
