Jain (Deemed-to-be University) had organized a session on “Current Status of CRISPR Cas9 Technologies for Genome Engineering and Eppendorf Solutions” for the students of Biochemistry on 19 September 2018. The Speaker of the session was Dr. Sajith Dass, Product Manager - Cell Technology, Eppendorf India Limited, Bangalore
The talk was centered on the scientific investigations associated with the genetic manipulation tool that is creating a big buzz in the scientific world, CRSISPR Cas9.The session encompassed the pioneers of this technology, the advancements, the R&D in progress and its potential utility. Highlights of the talk included genome editing, an evolution of transgenic technology, and mechanism of CRISPR Cas9, superiority of this over other genetic engineering methods, CRISPR libraries and application areas. In addition, he gave a picture of solutions where Eppendorf is offering training opportunities for both students and teachers.
