Jain (Deemed-to-be University)'s School of Humanities and Social Sciences organized a Theatre Workshop named Perspectives on Indigenous Literature on 29 November 2017 for students of Humanities and Social Sciences at Srishti Study Center, Bengaluru.
The Chief Guests Ms. Columpa Bobb, a Canadian Actress, Playwright, Poet, Teacher and Photographer and Ms. Lee Maracle, a Canadian Poet and Author graced the occasion.
The Canadian duo's talk was centered around the need to preserve indigenous literature, the importance of oral traditions in literature in the chain of literary production, the contribution of oral / indigenous literature in building a strong society based on values, the art of storytelling to convey messages and how these stories take the shape of the times that they are reproduced in.
Students were overwhelmed to attend such a scholarly session which was concluded with Q & A session.
