As a part of skill upgradation, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized an interacting session on "Steps to Project Management" as a part of Words of Wisdom series for MCA and M.Sc. - IT students, by Mr. Raja Krishnamoorthy, Associate Director at Cognizant Technology Solutions.
The session began with an overview of project management and its significance in IT industry. He explained why project management is important, how a manager chooses the team skill sets as per the project requirements, the challenges faced by a project manager in today’s world and also quoted few challenges faced by him as a project manager.
Later, he explained about the life cycle of the project from its planning, execution, and delivery, why generally projects fail, what all precautionary measures should be taken to avoid failure. He explained about the development of projects in detail, insight of the life cycle of a project, the steps involved in the process.
Meanwhile, in the interactive session, an inspiring video was delivered to the students where few key points were briefed about the time allotted, different types of existing projects, the scope of the project, conversion projects, and cost involved in package implementation and finally the quality if efficiently used ends up as a successful project.
