Department of Forensic Science, School of Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a session on ‘Ethics in Forensic Science’ on August 21, 2017 in the campus premises. Dr. Priyadarshini Iyer, a Forensic Science expert was invited to deliver a talk on ethical practices in forensic science as a part of Words of Wisdom series sessions.
Emphasizing the importance of professional ethics in the field of forensic science, Dr. Iyer said that forensic personnel should be of good ethical and moral character. She explained that how mishandling and manipulating a piece of evidence can result in wrong decisions and destroy a case. While enlightening the students on the career opportunities in forensic science, she also shared study and professional tips for the aspiring students and guided them how to get ahead in their careers.
Other than professional ethics, Dr. Iyer highlighted the significance of ethics and moral values in every sphere of human life. The inspiring and motivating talk also brought up the idea of entrepreneurship in the minds of the students.
