It has been a practice at Jain (Deemed-to-be University) to organize Corporate Connects frequently to minimize the gap of theoretical learning and practical realities of the corporate world.
The Department of Industry and Placement, under the guidance of Dr. Easwaran Iyer, had organised HR Conclave on the theme “Untouched Paradise of Hiring and Retaining Pivotal Talent” on 8 June 2019. The event witnessed more than 100 HR professionals.
The key note speaker Mr. Mahalingam C (Mali), Strategic HR Advisor and Executive Coach, spoke on the war of talent, talent needing greater attention, paradise of hiring by finding the right people, how talent can be a competitive edge for organisations. He concluded his talk with a quote by Dr. Ram Charan stating “If businesses managed their money as carelessly as they manage their people, most would be bankrupt”
They key note was followed by a panel discussion on “Higher Education Landscape and Increasing Workforce Diversity”, with panellists from top companies Mr. Lakshminarayanan, Chief Strategic Advisor, iNurture Education Solutions, Mr. Varadharaju, Vice President and Head HR – India, Australia and Sweden at 7 Innovation Labs, Ms. Sahana Sankar, Head HR at Palidion Networks, Mr. Vishwanadh Raju, Global Head, Talent Acquisition at AXISCADES. The session was moderated by Ms. Vijayanthi, GM HR at a product company.
Plenary session went over 1 hour with enthusiastic conversations between the panellists and interesting questions from the audience who were all HR professionals from various companies on diversity, millennials, changing needs of individuals and organizations, creating employee experience, unconscious bias, involvement, organization culture, ethics to name a few.
Dr. Chenraj Roychand, President, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) felicitated the key note speaker panellists and HR delegates who were present in the conclave. He was grateful to the eminent speakers and panellists for giving a great learning experience to the Audience and spoke about the extraordinary outlook of future with university- industry collaborations.
