Inter-Collegiate Student Conference on "Innovation and Creativity in Business Management"

Jain (Deemed-to-be University)’s, School of Commerce Studies, Shodha – The Student Research Cell had organized the 6th Inter-Collegiate Student Conference on “Innovation and Creativity in Business Management” on 14 March 2019. Nearly 125 students from different colleges from Bangalore and from other states had participated. This conference helped the students to know about the competencies and skills of entrepreneurship and how innovation and creativity results into development of new innovative business models. The conference had roped in the best consultants, trainers and young entrepreneurs from different industrial background. The experts shared their experience and knowledge with the students, budding entrepreneurs and academic research participants.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mathew Anthony, Consultant & Trainer for Client and Brand Management, Direct Marketing and Loyalty Management on the topic “ Millennium: Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present and Shaping the Future”. The speaker stressed on the fact that how evolution is going reverse because of the over usage of and dependency on technology and he also shared his enormous knowledge on Digital Immigrants, Digital Natives and digital Divas.  He concluded the session by telling Innovation and creativity is all about taking the existing and combining with something which can result it into something new, which should be practical and viable.

Plenary Session: This session consisted of three speakers and a moderator. The speakers were Mr. Charith G Kashyap, Founder Selvatite.com, Mr. Rohit, Founder, Ideohobi Technology, Mr. Rahul P. Singh, Equity Artha Chanakya and Moderator Mr. Pavan Makam, Director of Sales and Marketing at E-Dot Events, Bangalore.

Mr. Rahul shared that entrepreneurs should follow basic features of Time, Risk and Return of any business. Mr. Rohit suggested to select right partner /founder for your business, value the investor’s money and time, lead and being led. Mr. Charith Kashyap explored his view about that 'entrepreneur can't make money without money' so they should plan for their money where, how and when they can invest. Mr. Pavan Makam shared that creation of human network will result into increasing the net worth of your business.

The technical session consisted of student’s research paper presentation. The selected 23 research papers were presented at the conference by UG and PG students from various educational institutions like RVIM, SSMRV, CHRIST (Deemed to-be- University), Presidency college, BJIMS from Chikabalapur, DG Vaishnav college from Chennai  and Gayathri Business Studies college from Vizag. The students presented research papers on various themes relevant to the conference.  These selected research papers were published in the conference proceeding with ISBN 93-85061-14-3.

The 6th Inter-Collegiate Students Conference concluded with a valedictory function and prize distribution. The best three papers were selected for prize distribution namely: Ms. Kriti Agarwal, Central University of Karnataka, Mr. Aditya Gupta from Chirst (Deemed-to-be University) and Mr. Mushtak from Presidency College.
