Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is glad to inform that, it has received graded autonomy status by University Grants Commission (UGC). With reference to UGC’s new regulation on ‘Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy 2018’ (clause (j) of Section 12 read with clause (g) of subsection (1) of Section 26 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956), Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is placed under Category II of institutions eligible for graded autonomy. The grant was awarded based on its accreditation given by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), i.e. ‘A’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.31.
Last year Jain (Deemed-to-be University) was graded with 4 stars in the Young University category under the Karnataka State Universities Rating Framework (KSURF) initiated by the Karnataka State Higher Education Council, Government of Karnataka. Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is now self-reliant in starting new programs, initiating open and distance-learning centers, hiring foreign faculty and admitting foreign students under the guidance of University Grants Commission (UGC).
The university is one among 60 universities across the country, and one of the five universities in the state to have been declared autonomous.
