Jain (Deemed-to-be University) awards scholarships to 169 meritorious students

Jain (Deemed-to-be University), in its efforts to encourage and motivate students academically has awarded 169 meritorious students with scholarships. INR 50 lakh was endowed to the students at the ceremony. It was a refreshing sight to see the Vice Chancellor of Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. N Sundararajan, inviting the parents and students to light the lamp at the Annual Scholarship Presentation Ceremony held at School of Commerce Studies, Jain (Deemed-to-be University). Usually done by the dignitaries, this simple act demonstrated the ethos of Jain (Deemed-to-be University). After setting the tone for the function thus, Dr. N Sundararajan elucidated the motif behind Jain (Deemed-to-be University)’s Annual Scholarship Program. “It is not the amount that matters. It is a recognition of the hard work that you have put in the year before,” he said addressing the students.

The students later echoed the same sentiment that the amount didn’t matter and it was the recognition that counted. Harshavardhan T M, first-year B.Com. student at the University and a recipient of the scholarship was overjoyed. “This is a great incentive for me to perform better. It means a lot to me, as it is a reward and recognition of my talent and perseverance. This added responsibility is definitely an encouragement for me to constantly strive for the best,” he said. The parents too were appreciative of the efforts. “As a parent, I feel really gratified to see my child receiving such an award. It is a great initiative by the University and I hope they continue to encourage the students,” said Murali Krishna, a proud parent of one of the awardees.
