Jain (Deemed-to-be University) signed a MOU with Camosun College, Canada, for collaboration in the fields of sports education, training and sports sector skills development. Dr. N. Sundararajan, Vice Chancellor, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), and Sherri Bell, President, Camosun College, represented the respective institutions in the execution of seven-year partnership agreement.
The Jain (Deemed-to-be University)-Camosun College partnership drifts from a major MOU signed by Camosun College and India’s National Skill Development Corporation in 2015, where Camosun pledged to work with Indian partners to develop a national sport skills training program. Jain (Deemed-to-be University) is the first university to move forward with this major national venture and becomes the foundation partner in work that will include the development of short course “train-the-trainer” programs, delivery of Camosun programming, and participation in the development of sport training facilities in the Bangalore region.
The MOU is effective to 2023. In addition to the train-the-trainer programs, Camosun will co-operate with Jain (Deemed-to-be University) to deliver Camosun diplomas in Sport Management and Exercise and Wellness at Jain (Deemed-to-be University) campuses in Bangalore, with the option for Jain (Deemed-to-be University) students to complete the final two years of their degree at the Interurban campus in Victoria. The agreement will also allow qualifying Jain (Deemed-to-be University) students to transfer to Camosun College to complete the Bachelor of Business Administration, the Diploma in Business Administration and Post-Degree Diplomas in Business.
