Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized alumni meet for Ph.D. and M.Phil. students

As part of its Alumni Outreach, the Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a meeting of its Alumni in the Research Programs for Ph.D. and M.Phil. students. The highest degrees being offered by the University, the Research Program Alumni constitute the `elite` among the University Degree Holders.

It was an eventful Alumni meet that was held on 25 February 2017. More than a 100 Alumni who had received their Ph.D. and M.Phil. degrees from the University were present at the meet. The Research Guides and the Principal Officers of the University were also present to meet the Research Program Alumni.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Sandeep Shastri, who has steered the research program at the University welcomed the alumni and invitees. He congratulated the Alumni on their achievements and drew attention to the many triumphs of the Alumni. Crediting the Alumni with being pro-active in their approach, he hoped that the Alumni meet would provide a platform for interaction for mutually benefit.

The President of the Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Chenraj Roychand congratulated the Research Alumni for their achievements. He encouraged them to keep their interest in research alive and make a meaningful intervention to expanding the knowledge base and contribute to social and economic transformation. He invited the Alumni to continue to be associated with the University in whichever capacity they wished.

Dr. N. Sundararajan, Vice Chancellor of University, drew attention to the rigor of the Jain (Deemed-to-be University) Research Program and complimented the Alumni for their achievements. He hoped that the Alumni would serve as Ambassadors of the University and bring even greater laurels to the Institution.

Prof. Dinesh Nilkant, who coordinated the Alumni activities made a brief presentation on the University plans to connect and network all the Alumni and invited the Alumni of the Research Program to be part of the Connect.

The University honored a select number of Alumni with an Achievers Award for their Professional achievements after award of Ph.D. and their continued involvement in research. The 100th Ph.D. recipient, Dr. Suja Nair was also honored on the occasion.

Dr. Mythili Rao, Dean of Languages and Coordinator of the Research Program thanked all those who had taken time off and made the event a grand success. The informal interactions that continued after the formal event allowed the Alumni to reconnect and discuss their current research and professional interests.
