JU-SET organized a Skill Development Program for B.Tech Students

Jain (Deemed-to-be University)’s School of Engineering and Technology organized a Skill Development Program (SDP) on 29 November 2017 for B.Tech students. The objective of the program was to enhance the skill quotient of students.

Faculties of each of the seven departments of Engineering and Technology have designed these unique programs such as Fire Safety Technologist (offered by the department of Civil Engineering), Power Systems Automation Analyst (offered by the department of Electrical Engineering), Advanced Material Technologist (by the department of Mechanical Engineering), UAV Designer (by the department of Aerospace), Embedded Systems Designer (by the department of Electronics), Technical Analyst – Food (offered by the department of Food Technology), Computer Network Designer (jointly offered by the department of Computer Science and Information Science) including Amazon Web Services Solution Architect and more. Few of the courses lead to industry certified product certification such as CISCO™, Amazon™, and Google™ which will boost the employability opportunities for students.

Each of these SDP is of 150-180 hours spread over 6 modules, covered in parallel to the academic curriculum. The courses have been designed at three level of proficiency which is Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced level. The pedagogy would involve case studies and mini-projects as well. Finally culminating with certification by the respective departments. The students on successful completion of all the 6 modules with the stipulated grades would be awarded a certificate by the respective departments and/or the industry partner. The resource persons would be of both internal as well as experts from industry and research domain.
