School of Engineering and Technology - Jain (Deemed-to-be University), organized its 11th annual blood donation camp 'Amhithi - 2017' on 27th September 2017 in collaboration with Lions Blood Bank, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, NIMHANS and Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health.
The camp began with an inaugural function. Dr. Hariprasad S.A, Director, JU-SET welcomed Dr. M. H. Rangaswamy, President of Lions Club, Dr.Deepa from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Dr.Vijay from Lions Blood Bank, and Dr.Jayashree from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences and their teams.
During the program, Dr. M. H. Rangaswamy emphasized the growing needs of blood in the state and commended the young volunteers for their noble act. 800 volunteers came forward to donate blood during the camp which included teaching, non-teaching staff, and students donors. At the end, 447 units of blood was collected.
Dr. M. H. Rangaswamy expressed his gratitude to JU-SET for its continuous endeavor in this regard.
