The Research Alumni of Jain (Deemed-to-be University) came together for an evening of reflections on 29th February 2020. All those who had secured their Ph.D. and M.Phil degrees from the institute, met their Guides informally to discuss their research progress.
Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Founder Chairman, Jain Group and President, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) joined the alumni and spoke to them about their critical role in nation-building. He encouraged the researcher to take their doctoral work forward and contribute to different ways of solving the problems of society. He reminded them that securing a Ph.D. was just the start of their research journey and not the conclusion of it. He commended them for continuing to be actively involved with their Alma Mater and hoped that they would continue to engage with the University in different ways.
The Dr. Chenraj Roychand also announced the initiation of a Post-Doctoral Program at the Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and the holding of a separate “Research Conclave” at which the alumni could showcase their research work.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Sandeep Shastri outlined the different ways in which the alumni have been actively involved in the University activities and also spoke about the new initiatives that have been outlined for 2020 by the President.
Some of the Guides along with a few star alumni, who have creditable achievements post receiving their PhDs, were also honored. The event saw a few reflecting on their experience of guiding doctoral work and also appreciated the research culture that had been built up at the University. A few of the alumni spoke about their research experience at Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and spoke at length on how it had shaped their professional careers.
A short cultural program was organized by the alumni from the Music and Languages department who enthralled the guests.
