As a part of Words of Wisdom series, the Department of Computer Science, School of Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a guest lecture on "Applications of Java" on 15 July 2017 by Vijaya L Bashyam, Senior Performance Architect, IBM Order Management System at IBM USA and Soumya Prasada, Cognitive Engineer at IBM India Pvt. Ltd.
The speakers briefed about the history of Java and its development in the recent days. They discussed the popularity of Java in its widest range of application starting with a small app to its worldwide usage. They shared their knowledge on Java and JavaScript, its differences and its core similarities.
The guest speakers gave an overview of the application of Java in desktop applications, in embedded technologies and in a different field of various industries.
The talk concluded with a query handling session and felicitation to the speakers along with the vote of thanks.
