SGS - Jain (Deemed-to-be University) commemorated International Women's Day 2017
VASUDHA – Women’s Cell of Jain (Deemed-to-be University), School of Graduate Studies celebrated 22 International Women’s Day on 8 March 2017. On this occasion, it is customary to appreciate, acknowledge, hardships of womanhood.
A small token of appreciation was given by Director Dr. Asha Rajiv, for lady faculty members including UG, PG and office staffs. The celebration was marked by a small song, sung by the students. The staffs were delighted and welcomed the gesture.
At the later part of the day, a Guest Lecture was organized by the VASUDHA - Women’s Cell on the topics such as - gender equality and women empowerment, thus make her socially responsible.
The Chief Guest Ms. Savithri Ramesh was welcomed by Dr. Veena Nagaraj, HOD of Chemistry. The speaker was introduced by Ms. Chodamma of II CMBt.
Ms. Savithri Ramesh is a voracious trainer, and a counselor with 17 years of experience. She was a corporate trainer for many of the IT companies.
The speaker amused both the student and faculty with real life examples. Her speech was overwhelmed and enjoyed by the students as it included some activities which were thought to provoke. The speaker inspired the younger generation with her personality.
The celebration of International Women’s Day 2017 came to an end with formal vote of thanks by Ms. Pravalikka of II semester.
