School of Graduate Studies, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), organizes a lecture on “Forensic Examination of Explosives” as a part of Words of Wisdom event on 17 December 2016 for B.Sc students. Md. Shahbaz Alam, Assistant Director cum Senior Scientific Officer at the Explosive Division in State Forensic Laboratory, Patna, addressed the event.
The lecture mainly focused on the collection and examination of explosives in the forensic science laboratory where Mr. Shahbaz gave an elaborative account of the basics of explosive science with a number of case studies he personally handled. Many informative and interesting topics were discussed during the lecture such as Detection of RDX, assembly of military and homemade explosives and some extended chemical examination of RDX.
The students appreciated various aspects explosive division and learnt how to enhance their observation skills during explosive investigation.
