The Centre for Exchange at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), organized a Panel Discussion on “Education & Economy” on 19th September 2020.
The central idea behind organizing this discussion was to make the students understand the reciprocal linkage between education and the economy. It strived to comprehend how education has always aided in the development of knowledge, human capital, and skills for the progress of the nation. In advanced industrial societies, the educational system is a paramount contributor to national economic prosperity.
The panel emphasized how the educational structure should be organized to meet the social and economic challenges, especially amid the global pandemic. The intention of the discussion redirected towards the interrelationship between education, economy, and society and also elaborated on a wide range of other valuable topics such as the right to education, employment, the literacy rate in India, impact of globalization across different levels of education, and many more insightful concepts.
The panel members consisted of first-year BA (OPJ & PSE) and Economic (Hons.) students who ardently expressed their ideas and opinions on the topics.
