Vasudha, Women Cell, School of Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) Organizes Self-Defense Workshop

Vasudha, Women Cell, School of Sciences (SoS), Jain (Deemed-to-be University) recently organized a Self-Defense workshop for first semester students of B.Sc. Forensic Science, Life Sciences, and Physical sciences on 16 August 2017 in the premises of JC road campus.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with an NGO ‘Team Wakayama’. Sensei Mathew P. Raj (coach) along with two team members who are karate experts demonstrated the techniques to protect oneself in different situations of threat.

Mr. Mathew highlighting the basic measures of self-defense, he mentioned the need for being alert, plead and run in the dangerous situations. He also stressed on the need for being fit to ensure the safety of women in our society.

The session was very interactive and indeed was purposeful with a strong message to all, spreading awareness of self-defense techniques to ensure the safety of girls. The session was intended to boys as well who felt overwhelmed at the workshop.

Sensei Mathew P. Raj and his team members were felicitated by the Women Cell. The students made the event successful by participating enthusiastically and enrolling themselves for the Karate program.
