Women Cell Vasudha Organized a Guest Lecture on 'Adversities to Opportunities'
Jain (Deemed-to-be University)'s Women Cell Vasudha of School of Sciences which actively strives to form a bridge between student community and influential figures in education invited Dr.Uma Warrier who is a Professor at CMS Business School to deliver a Guest Lecture on 'Adversities to Opportunities' on 17 November 2017 for Forensic Science students.
The Speaker was able to capture the audience within few minutes of her talk. Her mind blowing stories and examples motivated the listeners to reach the pinnacle. She cited the examples of legendary multi-millionaires from all over India who had created an awareness to come out of the shell and think out of the box.
To overcome obstacles in students' lives and to achieve a milestone was explained in a very simple way with the help of short stories which involved the audience in the talk voluntarily. The stories were told to explain her ideas to
- Believe in oneself
- To come out of the mental state that "I can't change the situation"
- To think out of the box, being smart to handle the situation
- Need to speak out for help when required and also act deaf to certain people in order to achieve goals
A small video was also played which was a real eye-opener for students to battle in a tough situation and to seek help from elders, friends and available sources.
Students were also enlightened about the Vishwas - Students Guidance and Counselling Center present across Jain (Deemed-to-be University) campus.
Dr. Asha Rajiv, Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Jain (Deemed-to-be University) graced the occasion and requested the students to approach the counseling center in tough situations.
