Sound Engineering, a branch of Audio Science, is a career for those who love music and wish to be a part of this industry. Sound Engineering is all about capturing sound, recording, copying, editing, mixing, producing and reproducing sound using electronic and mechanical devices. It involves both production and post-production tasks. Production part may involve everything from set-up to the actual recording.

Job opportunities for audio engineers and technicians are many in various fields of the entertainment industry such as film, television, multimedia design, and animation and CD production units. FM radio stations, private TV channels and advertising firms also recruit sound engineers.

What will I experience?

  • Students will be able to identify, describe and explain sound engineering fundamentals associated with the signal flow, microphones, recording, mixing, and production and mastering.

  • Mixing Engineer for Dolby DTS Surround sound.
  • Handling Sound System in live outdoor events.
  • Sound Designing for Film effects.
  • Recordist at a Radio Station, especially FM Stations or to produce software for broadcasting, e.g. Ad-commercials, Corporate Documentary films, jingles etc.
  • Maintenance or Service Engineer for the equipment.
  • Designing and establishing sound Recording Studios with proper aesthetics, acoustics and ambiance.
