A Session on "Growing Opportunities in Food Processing Industry"

Jain (Deemed to-be University)’s Department of Food Technology organized a session on "Growing Opportunities in Food Processing Industry" on 29 September 2018.
The speaker of the session was Mr. Chetan L. Hanchat, Director and CEO, CPF.The discussion began with the importance of food and how processed food carry a virtual importance in our day to day life. This was shown through visual display where it was portrayed how world will face problem without processed food. How processed food have made people day to day life much easier with "Ready To" products like RTE, RTS, RTC, RTU, RTP, RTF, RTM was discussed.
The speaker emphasized on adoption of new processing technologies which are being developed like high pressure processing, extraction, freezing, space food, etc. The different concepts on developing on safe and nutri foods, convenient foods, food manufacturing with extra additives, traditional food, special nutrient value, continental food, fusion food, fun foods where highlighted in the session . Latest technology in food sectors was discussed. He explained about the wide range of opportunities in food industries. He further helped the students to understand the importance of food industry amidst the various industries existing. Towards the end of the session there was a discussion platform where the students put forward their queries and he cleared them.
