Short Course on ‘Refugee Rights and Advocacy’ to be Held from June 4 – 8

Jain University is delighted to inform that its Center for Research in Social Sciences and Education (CERSSE) in association with Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN) will be hosting a 5-day short course on ‘Refugee Rights and Advocacy’ from 4 – 8 June 2018.

The course which will be the first in South Asia will bring together refugee rights advocates from across South Asia and aims to strengthen their understanding of forced migration in the Asia Pacific through a human rights perspective. The course also seeks to strengthen participants’ capacity and knowledge in advocating for the rights of refugees in the region with a specific focus on the South Asia sub-region.

The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, case studies and small group work which will be giving participants’ the opportunity to use the knowledge and skills acquired. The course will be presented by some of the leading experts working on forced migration issues in the region. They include academics, activists, pro-bono lawyers, UNHCR representatives and NGO workers.
