JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) appoints new Vice Chancellor
Professor (Dr.) Raj Singh has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). He has previously served as Vice Chancellor at a Private University in Gurugram.
The Search cum Selection Committee felt Raj Singh was outstanding throughout the interview process & also his leadership experience over the years has been exceptional. His appointment follows an extremely rigorous selection process with a number of high calibre candidates.
Raj Singh brings with him a wealth of experience and we particularly found his values and vision on ‘education through practice’ to match those we have at JAIN. Professor Raj Singh said on his appointment, It is a privilege to have been appointed Vice Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). I am getting to know the University well and it is a very special place, with a remarkable staff cohort all of whom are dedicated to ensuring our students achieve their potential.
I have no doubt that there will be challenges ahead - not least a continuing pandemic - but with my talented and dedicated team here at JAIN, I am certain that we will be able to overcome them.
Professor Raj Singh is an innovative academic leader and administrator with proven capability in designing industry relevant programs in collaboration with industry and academia. He is a strong proponent of a flexible education system in an inter and trans-disciplinary setting. With 38 years of experience in education and administration, he has led some of the well-known universities and institutions in India. In the early years of his career, Professor Raj Singh has served in the Indian Air Force and worked as the Founder Head of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India.
He has conducted research and published in the field of Finance and Accounting, Strategy and Marketing. He graduated in Mathematics and Economics and took postgraduate qualifications in Economics. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and a Ph.D. from Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak, India.
