World Food Day - 2018

As a part of World Food Day, Jain (Deemed-to-be-University)’s Department of Food Technology celebrated World Food Day on 17 October 2018 with theme declared by FAO as “Our Actions Are Our Future. A #Zero Hunger World By 2030 Is Possible” with reputed professional body - The Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India), AFST(I).
The function was chaired by Dr. Hariprasad S.A. Director, SET, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Satish Kulkarni, Former Director ICAR-NDRI, SRS, Chairman FSSAI panel on labeling claims

Various technical talks were given by the experts and students, in the domains of Food Technology
1. Dr. Satish Kulkarni delivered a talk on “Sufficiency to efficiency in dairying”
2. Dr. Krishnakumar Joshi delivered a talk “Imperativeness in safe, healthy & nutritious food in daily life
3. Mr. Rohan Bhujle delivered a talk on “Minimization & management of food wastage”
4. Mr. Sachin Achintalwar IFCON 2018 Curtain Raiser Presentation
Industrial experts exchanged their skill requirements in students and various other technical topics to be included in the syllabus. They also agreed to be the part of BoS of Food Technology, Jain (Deemed-to-be University). Prestigious professional body, AFSTI, came forward to draft a MoU between Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and AFSTI. This initiation will empower department of Food Technology’s placement, Invited talks and upcoming conferences and Seminars. The performance of students in the event coordination and management was appreciated by the industries.
