We are pleased to share that Dr. Sutar Rani Ananda, Postdoctoral Fellow at CRFM, has published a research article in the prestigious journal Progress in Materials Science (Impact Factor: 40). The article, “Tailored architectures in desalination membranes with MXene: Is this the way forward?”, explores the design of MXene-based architectures for advanced desalination membranes, offering critical insights into addressing global water scarcity through innovative and sustainable materials. This work marks an important contribution to environmental materials science and underscores our community’s role in developing solutions to global challenges.

Prof. Mahaveer D. Kurkuri, along with 13 senior scientists, bureaucrats, and Indian government officials, visited the Netherlands and Belgium to engage in a dialogue on hydrogen energy.
Mr. Shivalingayya Gaddimath, a dedicated project intern, has embarked on the next phase of his academic journey. He has secured admission to the prestigious University of Southern Denmark, Denmark, to pursue his Ph.D. We congratulate him on this significant achievement and wish him continued success in his research endeavors.

Dr. Arvind Kumar had secured the prestigious International Travel Support grant from ANRF, a remarkable achievement. He successfully presented his research at AGU 2024 in Washington, DC, USA, making us proud and further elevating his contributions to the field of research on a global scale!

Prof. Wei-Song Hung, Professor at the Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, delivered an insightful invited talk on "Mechanism of Electrically Responsive Graphene-Based Membrane for Simultaneous Steam and Power Generation.” His insights on advanced membrane mechanisms sparked discussions and fostered collaborative innovations with international researchers.

Padmaja Vasant Mane has been awarded the Best Poster award at "International Symposium - Rasayan 18-2024", jointly Organized by CRS and CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, in collaboration with RSC.
Shrinath Bhat served as a project intern at CRFM, where he demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise. He has secured a PhD position at the University of Adelaide, Australia. This institution is a member of the Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia's most research-intensive institutions, and is renowned for attracting highly talented researchers, students, government, and industry partners. Mr Bhat has been awarded the University of Adelaide Research Scholarship for his potential. His PhD research will focus on the systematic monitoring and evaluation of PFAS immobilization in soil under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Shervin Kabiri. We are incredibly proud of Mr. Bhat's achievements and are confident that he will continue to excel academically. His dedication and passion for his field are truly commendable, and we look forward to his future contributions to the scientific community.
Arvind Raj, Senior Research Fellow at CRFM, has been awarded the MAECI Scholarship by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allowing him to extend his research activities in Italy. His 6-month research at the University of Milan, guided by Professor Claudia L. Bianchi, focuses on use of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for the removal of polyphenols from contaminated water. This achievement underscores the significance of international collaboration in pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration.
Vishwanath R S joined CRFM as an assistant professor; before this position, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Ariel University, Israel. Vishwanath did his Ph.D. in Chemical Science at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland, and secondment at Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan.
Dr.ShambhulingaAralekallu joined CRFM as an assistant professor in March 2023. Before that, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Hanyang University, South Korea.
