JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Faculty Participate in National Conference on the Future of Cybersecurity Education

20 January 2026: Faculty members from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) participated in a significant national dialogue on advancing India’s cybersecurity education ecosystem at the conference titled “Securing the Digital Future: Roadmap for Cybersecurity Education and Talent Development”, held in New Delhi on 20 January 2026.

Dr Kamlesh Tiwari, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dr Deepak K. Sinha, Deputy Director, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, represented JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) at the high-level conference. The event was organised by the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), and was hosted at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education.

The conference focused on a critical national concern, the growing gap between academic cybersecurity curricula and the rapidly evolving demands of the industry. Experts emphasised the need to move beyond conventional theoretical instruction towards hands-on, practice-oriented learning, supported by advanced infrastructure such as cyber ranges, digital twins, and real-world simulation environments.

Key takeaways from the conference closely align with JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)’s commitment to delivering future-ready education:

  • Beyond Coding: Cybersecurity demands an interdisciplinary approach encompassing technology, psychology, digital forensics, and strategic thinking, rather than programming skills alone.

  • Evolving Curriculum: The dynamic nature of cyber threats necessitates adaptive learning models over static syllabi, encouraging innovation and adversarial thinking.

  • National Collaboration: Developing a resilient cybersecurity workforce requires coordinated efforts between academia, industry, and government, with a strong focus on experiential learning, specialised laboratories, and robust research ecosystems.

Reflecting on the discussions, Dr Kamlesh Tiwari stated, “The conference reinforced our vision at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) to develop programmes that produce not just graduates, but strategic thinkers and problem-solvers. Expanding hands-on cyber laboratories, scenario-based training, and interdisciplinary learning will be essential to preparing students for emerging challenges.”

Dr Deepak K. Sinha added, “The emphasis on indigenous tool development and ethical artificial intelligence aligns closely with our institutional focus on innovation and responsible technology. Engaging in this national dialogue enables us to continually calibrate our curriculum and infrastructure to contribute meaningfully to India’s digital security objectives.”

The participation of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) faculty in this pivotal conference highlights the institution’s proactive role in shaping industry-relevant education and its commitment to supporting national priorities in cybersecurity and technological resilience.
