Research Interest

Padmaja Vasant Mane finds her research interest in environmental safety related topics such as water remediation, sustainable energy and agriculture. Her current research mainly focuses on design and development of organic receptor molecules (natural and synthetic) and High Surface Area Materials (HSAMs) for the detection and removal of toxic ions from water. While some of the main research interest are:

  • Synthesis of nanosensors for detection of environmental pollutants like heavy metals, pesticides and other organic wastes.
  • Design and fabrication of nanomaterials such as nanofiltration membranes and adsorbents for water purification.
  • Development of biodegradable and sustainable nanosensors for the detection of organic and inorganic contaminants from water.
