M. Des Design Led Innovation

Course Overview

The M.Des. in Design Led Innovation is a dynamic two-year graduate program that immerses students in the world of innovative design. With a specialized focus on Design Led Innovation, this program equips students with advanced skills and methodologies to excel in crafting holistic and exceptional user experiences across both digital and physical environments. It integrates the principles of strategic innovation, empowering graduates to not only design groundbreaking experiences but also strategically drive innovation within organizations. Through a curriculum centered on design thinking and creativity, students learn to identify user needs, empathize with users, and approach complex challenges with innovative solutions, positioning themselves as leaders in both design and strategic innovation.

Course Highlights

Duration of Study: 2 Years (4 semesters)

Application of Design Thinking, Communication strategy and enhancement of User Experience are going to be integral

Eligibility
  1. Candidates must have passed a 4-year Degree Program with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Mechanical Engineering, Computer science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, MBBS or any other relevant stream and should have studied English as a mandatory course.
  2. Candidates must have secured a rank in CEED conducted by IDC of IIT- Bombay or should have a valid score in JET EXAM conducted by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
Selection Procedure

Applicant has to appear and clear the JET Exam,that includes

  1. Portfolio Review
  2. Personal Interview

Note : Candidates have to secure valid ranks in CEED (for M. Des program), can directly attend the Portfolio review and Personal interview conduct by The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts. If not, they have to undertake the JET Exam conduct by The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts followed with Portfolio review and Personal interview to get qualify for the Design program.

Career Path

Most IT Companies and a large number of Start-ups who into such kinds of business models would offer such Designers with opportunities mainly in designing the business strategy of new products and processes, Business process redesign – basically, to carryout research on how to find opportunity for new market / product, exploring the needs of the emerging and niche market customers etc. and strategize the findings for execution / realization.

As career path or prospects, a Designer with this Specialization can reach up to the level of General Manager (Design), Chief Designer or even Senior Vice President (Business Design or Design Strategy).
