The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts is dedicated to unleashing the creativity of the students through innovative approaches to design education. Comprehensively powered by one of the top universities, the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts will offer rigorous, studio-based learning that engages the creative students in focused training, interdisciplinary inquiry, and practice-based collaborative learning. At the School of Design, Media and Creative Arts, the students will embrace change, creativity and critical thinking abilities. They will be empowered to translate ideas into tangible forms both physical and digital.

About Faculty

Education at The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts will be delivered by accomplished and competent Faculty members who, as Designers possess a wide range of expertise ranging from Textile Design, Product Design, Lifestyle Products and Accessories Design to UI / UX Design from major Design Institutes (including NID and IITs) and Industry.

The members of the Board of Studies and the Industry Advisory Board of The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts are from major Design Institutes like NID, IITs and from various domains of the Industry such as IT, Manufacturing, Electronics, Handicrafts & Handloom sectors.

Collaboration

The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts will have multi-prong collaborations with various kinds of Industries and academia - including the manufacturing industry, the transportation Industry, the IT industry, the bio-medical products sector, products for the physically challenged ones, the service sectors, the handicrafts and handlooms sector and the academia - both national and international.

The mechanism & strategic partnership for such collaborations will address at the following:

  • Real-life exposure to students for realistic needs of Design development and innovation
  • Bringing in external contemporary Industry knowledge to class-room environment
  • Joint development of Innovations and New Product Development strategies for a third party

Facilities

Facilities at The School of Design, Media and Creative Arts will include Model making and prototyping studio with basic tools and machines for working with materials such as wood, metal, series of plastic material, finishing tools including paint shop, drawing studio, photography studio, relevant software – both academic and commercial versions, preview rooms with editable sound systems.
