Bengaluru, 10th and 11th August 2026: An athlete's performance is shaped by two things that rarely make it into the highlight reel: how well the body holds up, and how closely the game is studied afterwards. JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)'s School of Sports Education and Research (SSER) has now brought both under its wing, signing two Memorandums of Understanding within a single week.
The first, signed with STAIRS Physiotherapy & Fitness Centre on 10 August, addresses the physical side of sport. STAIRS works across sports physiotherapy, biomechanical assessment, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation, helping athletes recover from injury and, just as importantly, avoid it in the first place. For SSER students, the partnership opens doors to internships and clinical exposure, along with workshops on injury management and strength conditioning that go beyond classroom theory.
A day later, on 11 August, SSER signed a second MoU, this time with BanyanBoard, a Bengaluru-based sports technology company. Where STAIRS looks at the athlete's body, BanyanBoard looks at the athlete's game, using its SPAN platform to break video footage into performance data and its EvoFX tools to power broadcast graphics. Students will get hands-on experience with sports analytics, video analysis, and the kind of data-driven insight now central to how modern sport is coached and broadcast.
Together, the two collaborations give JAIN's SSER students a fuller picture of what it takes to build and sustain an athlete: attentive care on one end, informed analysis on the other. Internships, faculty development sessions, and joint research projects are among the areas both partners have indicated interest in taking forward, turning the MoUs into ongoing collaborations rather than one-time signings.
KONVERGE 2025 was a 2-day national conference (20–21 March 2025) hosted by SSER, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
It focused on Physiotherapy, Sports Sciences, Physical Education, and Allied Health Sciences.
Over 650+ participants from 72 universities attended the conference.
