Dr. G. Ramachandra Rao

Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology & Botany, Jain (Deemed-to-be University)Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

I am basically a plant field biologist exploring tropical forest, its ecology, evolution, taxonomy and conservation aspects in Western Ghats and Western Himalaya. I am particularly interested with forest dynamics and its adaptations to climate change. My present research also dwell on urban ecology and sustainability.

  • 2022-Present: Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology & Botany, JAIN (Deemed-to-be-University), Bengaluru.

  • 2018-2019: Assistant Professor in Botany, M.E.S College of Arts, Commerce, and Science, Bengaluru.
  • 1999-2018: Various levels from Project assistant to Research Associate-Center for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
