A day-long seminar on "Testing Fire Safety Products: Challenges and Opportunities" conducted for the students of M.Tech and M.Sc Forensic Science students. About 25 participants attended the seminar. Students were made aware of the importance and testing of fire safety products, challenges and opportunities as part of fire safety in the area of research and development of various products. A fire test was demonstrated followed by a lab tour as part of the scheduled event. Prof. HS Mukunda, Chairman, ARC, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Dr. Bhaskar Dixit, Director, FCRC and Mr. Anantharaman, Fire Safety Consultant delivered presentations on the related subjects.
A seminar on ‘’Strategies for Enhancing Fire Resistance and Resiliency of Modern of Concrete Structures” was organized and conducted at FCRC, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Dr. Venkatesh Kodur, Professor & Chairperson, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Michigan State University, USA) presented on the topic during the day-long event. The attendees were from the Civil and Aerospace Department.
The inauguration of UL Jain Fire Lab has received an excellent media coverage. The local and national publications, online portals have carried a special article about the event.
